The Full Story
Fly-By-Beef, LLC
Our black angus beef is born, raised, and finished on my family’s ranch in the prairies of north-eastern Montana. I have been blessed enough to enjoy home-grown beef my entire life, from Montana, Utah, California, and Alaska I have brought coolers of beef with me as I moved. This practice left a trail of friends who asked to have our beef shipped to them after I departed, thus, the creation of Fly-By Beef.

Butchering
Beef is hung to age for 14 days – these days aid in flavor and tenderization.
The butchering schedule is weather-dependent, to ensure your meat is in the best shape when you receive it, we will ensure it is a nice day when the animal is butchered. A better product is received when animals are not stressed.
We work with a local butcher shop on the Hi-Line of Montana, the butcher timing is also dependent on their availability.
Since the whole or half animal is owned by you, the meat will have your name on it. A template will be sent to you for your custom cut options and contact information for our local butcher shop, they will work with you to meet all your customization needs.

Shipping
Unless otherwise arranged, your processed animal will be shipped to the airport you specify via Alaska Air Cargo. You will need to pick up the package(s) upon arrival. Please keep in mind that this is frozen beef and will need to be handled as such. Some Alaska Air Cargo locations have freezers or coolers and others do not, please retrieve your meat as soon as it is available for pickup.
If you are local to Montana, we can arrange delivery or pickup.

Cost Breakdown
The billed dollar per pound is by shipped weight, the total invoice will be sent after the animal is processed and weighed. Other whole beef sales you will see are sold by hanging weight – which includes bones, fat, etc. The hanging weight is ~40% higher than what you receive.
